Our Mission

Our Goals

  • Help students to realize their innate drawing abilities
  • Develop each student's drawing skills based on his or her particular interests
  • Help students to transfer their drawing skills to school and/or work projects
  • Guide students in exploring careers that utilize drawing skills

Our Products and Services for Kids and Adults

Children love to draw! It is an essential part of a child's learning process. Drawing skills are used to investigate both natural and constructed environments, record observations, solve problems, and express ideas. Drawing skills are the foundation of visual art education and help students achieve success in all school subjects.

In an increasingly visual world, adults are finding drawing to be a powerful tool for communicating ideas and solving problems in the workplace. Drawing is also the perfect way to relax and be involved in a gratifying activity away from job. The Scribbles Institute is devoted to helping kids and adults enjoy the many benefits of drawing.

The online Fax Academy helps kids and adults improve their drawing based on their individual interests and abilities. Each student receives instruction and advice from a drawing coach. Parents and teachers are encouraged to participate in the learning process. Adult students are encouraged to draw on a regular basis and explore ways of applying their drawing skills in daily life.

Educational materials from the Scribbles Institute keep creativity in our schools and in our children's dreams. We enjoy working with educators as we develop quality books about drawing and visual art. The Young Artist Basics series introduces the elements of art and how they've been used by artists throughout history. Our How-to-Draw Books guide students through the challenges of drawing and encourage the use of drawing in school projects. Our series called Doodle Books helps students draw everyday things with lines and shapes.

DoodleZine is devoted to drawing fun for kids, parents, and teachers. It explores drawing techniques, application of drawing skills in school, and the development of a useful "visual vocabulary."

Horizon Lines explores careers that utilize drawing as an essential skill. We feature real stories about professionals who rely on drawing skills in their daily work. Articles and web links assist parents and teachers in helping middle and high schoolers draw their future. The content is also useful for adults looking to apply drawing to work and school.

Drawing the Future

More than ever, the world needs innovative ideas. Drawing is integral to the process of generating and conveying bold, useful ideas. At the core of the Scribbles Institute is the desire to stimulate the imaginations of kids and adults. Our use of digital media is revolutionary in teaching drawing and visual art. We take each student's education seriously. We also understand and share the joy drawing brings to intrepid, creative hands.

Thank you for taking the time to visit.

Rob Court
Drawing Coach

This site is dedicated to my grandmother, Julia Court, who was a painter and a rebel; to Claudia Flint, a wonderful teacher loved by all who knew her; to Susan Cole, my junior high art teacher who taught me drawing skills (she still teaches and makes art in Orange County!). Special thanks to: George and Kris Peterson, who believed enough in LOOPI the Fantastic Line, to publish our books; to Mary Francis and Elizabeth Budd Sirimarco who have helped me to produce many quality books over the years; to Cheryl Hinchman and John Court, my sister and brother who have always believed in my artwork; and to Rhonda Alexander, whose encouragement and loving support has helped to bring the Scribbles Institute website to life.
